NotlarThis morning March 8th 2021 at 5:35 am I witnessed a fireball slowly falling through the sky heading in a west south west direction, speed was slow, color was pure white with only a trace of blue and red trailing the fireball. It had a very short tail and left no persistent train and did fragment at the end. There were several fragments (3 or 4) that were redish orange in color that slowly faded out. To give an estimated brightness using Venus as a guide I would say that it was three times the brightness of Venus at its brightest apparition so as an estimate I would say minus 12 to 14 in magnitude. As things can be deceiving at times the fireball looked to be low in the atmosphere. The duration of the event was no more than seven to ten seconds. Note: I was driving at the time so I don’t know if this would have anything to do with the speed at which the fireball seemed to be traveling. I am an experienced meteor observer. Thank You.
