I literally thought this was a rocket. A very clean and distinct smoke trail, white in colorization, but it did not dissipate slowly but loomed for many seconds and was just gone.

The object was continuously bright travelling from Northwest to Southeast leaving an amazing smoke trail. As it seemed to almost fade from view I lost sight of it and then there was a bright orange flash which I believe I captured in my photo.
