NotlarI have observed meteors my whole life, this was BY FAR the largest and brightest I have ever seen. The object appears about half the size of my pinky fingernail at arms length. It started at just above the northwest horizon, and traversed half of the sky trailing a white tail. As it reached the peak of its arc across the sky, it started to dim from a bright yellow/white to a orange and eventually "burned out" like an orange ember after traversing down about 1/3 past the zenith of it's arc. 30 seconds later the double boom was heard by my ex-wife who was at her house about 13 miles east of me. I heard the booms about 10 seconds after she did. My children heard the booms from inside my house with doors and windows shut.

NotlarAbout 30 seconds after the object "burned out" I heard a double boom.. First boom was louder, followed by second boom immediately after that was about half as loud. Almost no delay between booms, like BOOMboom It was loud enough to be heard indoors by others. My wife observed the same event from her address at 1758 swimming salmon and heard the booms about 10 seconds before I did at my address.
