| Notlar | I have seen many meteors, meteor showers, and several comets, and this was by far the more spectacular event I have seen. It was moving relatively slow (the sighting lasted several seconds), and from I have read, this was probably an asteroid or asteroid fragment. Due to trees and the landscape, I could not tell if the debris made it to the ground. Based on the size, brightness, and moving smoke trail, I believe I was fairly close (relatively speaking) to the debris train/trail. My guess based on distance and trajectory, is that any remaining debris would have landed in SW Columbia County or NW Richmond County, Georgia (USA). |
